In August 2024, the GSTC, in partnership with the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), announced its plans to expand the GSTC Standards by developing a new set specifically for tourism-related food service providers. More detailed information about the process is available in the GSTC Standard Development Terms of Reference (TOR) document here.
This forthcoming standard, with an official name to be determined, will establish global sustainability standards tailored to the unique needs of Food & Beverage Service Providers within the tourism industry. Concurrently, the GSTC Standard for Food & Beverage Service Providers Development Advisory Group* was established.
We are now extending an invitation to all stakeholders in the industry to engage in the Feasibility Assessment of the GSTC Standard for Food & Beverage Service Providers. This assessment period is currently open and will continue until May 12th, 2025. We strongly encourage organizations involved with food & beverage (F&B) services to thoroughly examine the Draft Standard. This review should focus on evaluating the relevance, measurability, and comprehensibility of each criterion and indicator. Your participation is crucial in ensuring that the criteria are both effective and applicable across diverse settings.
