Updates on the GSTC Hotel Criteria and GSTC Tour Operator Criteria revisionThe Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) announced last year the third revision of the GSTC Industry Criteria after announcing version 3 in 2016. The first and second public consultations have been accomplished as set in the Terms of Reference.

We are now extending an invitation to all stakeholders in the industry to engage in the Feasibility Assessment of the GSTC Hotel Criteria and GSTC Tour Operator Criteria. This assessment period will open on March 10th and will continue until April 10th, 2025. We strongly encourage organizations involved with hotels, accommodations, travel agencies, and tour operators to thoroughly examine the draft Criteria.

The review should focus on evaluating the relevance, measurability, and comprehensibility of each criterion and indicator. Your participation is crucial in ensuring that the criteria are both effective and applicable across diverse settings.

This process offers a unique and significant opportunity to influence a project that promises to drive meaningful change within our industry. Your insights and expertise can help shape the standard that will define quality and sustainability in hospitality and in tour operators operations globally.

If you are keen to contribute to the GSTC Hotel Criteria and GSTC Tour Operator Criteria, please contact the GSTC Secretariat at criteria@gstc.org for further information on how you can make a significant and valuable contribution to this pivotal project. Your involvement is not only welcomed but essential in achieving our collective goals.
