Through this collaboration, Traveloka has helped empower tourism stakeholders across the region with comprehensive education on the GSTC Criteria, the global standards for sustainability in travel and tourism.

GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training sponsored by Traveloka in Jogja, Indonesia concluded successfullyOver the past two years, Traveloka’s sponsorship has enabled nine impactful training sessions across key destinations, including Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. These events welcomed 260 participants from the public and private sectors, including hotel managers, tour providers, government officials, and sustainability practitioners. Designed to equip attendees with tools to implement sustainable practices, the trainings have contributed to building a more resilient and responsible tourism sector in Southeast Asia.

Trainers with extensive experience in the field from GSTC, such as CB Ramkumar, Nalendra Mochamad, Trang Nguyen, and others, ensured the delivery of high-quality content tailored to the needs of regional audiences. The trainings were held in iconic venues, providing an ideal setting to reflect on the intersection of sustainability and the tourism experience.

“Traveloka’s commitment to offering educational opportunities for hotel partners and promoting sustainability is impressive. It not only offers valuable learning experiences but also provides networking opportunities with a variety of hotels in one destination. This brings them together to envision a better future, demonstrating how Traveloka is positively influencing the sustainability efforts of the entire destination,” said  Dr. Jisun Kim, Training Program Manager at GSTC.

“Keenness to absorb knowledge is key to open one’s mind. This is all that I asked of the senior managers who attended the trainings and they responded with so much enthusiasm and passion. I wish all the participants the very best….keep the spirit, pour all your passion into this journey and your flag will always be flying high!” said CB Ramkumar, GSTC Vice Chair and Trainer.

“The training in Indonesia was an incredibly rewarding experience, with participants showing great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to integrating sustainability into their work. By providing valuable learning opportunities and bringing together a diverse group of tourism stakeholders, Traveloka is making a significant contribution to building a more sustainable and quality tourism, especially in Indonesia.
