Traveloka sponsored the GSTC Sustainable Hotel Course in Thai, on the 4th and 5th of September 2023, for Phuket Hotels Association (PHA) Members at the Sainam Meeting Room in SAii Laguna Phuket, Thailand. The training was led by GSTC Trainer Pornpol Noithammaraj, who shared their expertise with practical examples and valuable insights.
This course was the pre-training before the 2023 PHIST event, the sixth annual Asian sustainability-focused learning event (Phuket Hotels for Islands Sustaining Tourism), where GSTC CEO, Randy Durband participated by leading a masterclass on “Implementing the GSTC Criteria Development” sharing best practices and examples of implementing specific Criteria to get one step closer to being GSTC aligned.
The GSTC Sustainable Hotel Course provided the 28 participants with the essential knowledge and skills to champion sustainable tourism practices. It presented an excellent opportunity to delve into the GSTC Criteria the global standards for sustainability in tourism and travel. The inclusion of global and local case studies enhanced the value of the training.
Upon successful course completion, participants receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to take an optional official exam to obtain the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism.
