Okinawa Prefecture sponsored the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training for their employees in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. The training was held from the 22nd to the 24th of February, 2025. It was led by GSTC Trainer Kazuhiro Arai, Representative of Daisetsuzan Nature School, who shared his expertise with practical examples and valuable insights.

“Among the participants were members dedicated to preserving and making the best use of the cultural assets surrounding Shuri Castle in Naha. While safeguarding these treasures is a top priority for them, they also face challenges, such as heavy traffic congestion in the area. Consequently, we actively explored practical applications of the GSTC Criteria with the goal of conserving natural and cultural assets and enhancing their overall value.” said Mr. Arai.
