The GSTC Certification is based on the globally recognized standard for sustainable tourism, the GSTC Hotel Criteria. Portrait Milano becomes the 1st Hotel in Milano, Italy to obtain GSTC Certification by Dream&Charme, a GSTC-Accredited certification body, demostrating its dedication to safeguarding the environment, empowering the local community, and ensuring its guests enjoy meaningful, sustainable experiences.
Portrait Milano was GSTC certified in October 2024 followed by other 17 GSTC certified hotels by Dream&Charme.
Portrait Milano, a former archbishop’s seminary and one of the oldest examples of Lombard Baroque architecture in the world, has undergone extensive renovations to preserve its historic structure while transforming it into a modern hub of hospitality, entertainment, and culture in the heart of Milano’s fashion district. The hotel overlooks the city’s newest landmark, the Piazza del Quadrilatero, a 2,800-square-meter public square—the largest in the fashion district.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) manages the GSTC Criteria, the global standards for sustainable travel and tourism and provides international accreditation for sustainable tourism Certification Bodies.
Accredited means that a Certification Body (CB) has been verified through a rigorous external review from an accreditation body whereby the GSTC provides assurance that the CB awards certification to businesses according to processes that comply with international standards and good practices.
