‘Implementing the GSTC MICE Criteria is essential for venues, event organizers, and events & exhibitions aiming to achieve sustainability. These criteria not only provide a comprehensive framework for sustainable practices but also emphasize the importance of collaborating with the entire supply chain. By engaging suppliers and service providers in sustainable initiatives, the MICE industry can enhance environmental stewardship, support local communities, and deliver enriching experiences for attendees. This holistic approach ensures that sustainability is integrated at every stage, fostering a resilient and responsible industry’, Dr Pappas emphasized.
Experts also tackled risks and threats faced by the industry, as well as the importance of sustainability and inclusion in shaping a more responsible sector. Additionally, the conference covered event marketing in the new digital era, strategies to adapt to change, and ‘visions for tomorrow,’ providing attendees with a comprehensive outlook on the industry’s future.
