The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) recently held a training event in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, from the 4th to the 6th of September, 2023. The training was organized by Greentour project, funded by the European Union’s SWITCH-Asia program, implemented by Helvetas Germany.
The GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge and tools to implement sustainable tourism principles in their operations. The trainer was Anula Galewska, Director at Travindy.
The course was done in the Russian language and offered an excellent opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge about the GSTC Criteria and sustainable tourism practices. It included examples of best practices from destinations, tour operators, and accommodation providers around the globe.
Upon successful course completion, participants receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to take an optional official exam to obtain the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism.
