GSTC at The Swisscontact Annual Meeting: “Sustainable Tourism Promotion: Fiction or Reality?”

The Swisscontact Annual Meeting: “Sustainable Tourism Promotion: Fiction or Reality?” took place on 4th October 2017, in Zurich, Switzerland, where Mr. Randy Durband, GSTC CEO, was interviewed about the GSTC, global standards, sustainable tourism, and other related topics.

Personalities from business and the public sector discussed sustainable tourism promotion at the Technopark in Zurich, as “tourism is an important economic driver: every tenth job worldwide is dependent on tourism and tourism accounts for 10 percent of global gross domestic product (GDP).”

Swisscontact held this event to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism. As an organization for development cooperation, Swisscontact promotes sustainable economic growth and sees opportunities for employment and income in an innovative private sector.
