Mr. Luigi Cabrini, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) was given an Honorary Fellowship for his “profound contributions to the environment, economy, and society.”
“I am deeply grateful to the Social Enterprise Research Academy for granting me the Honorary Fellowship Award. It represents an appreciation of the efforts of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council to promote tourism as a force for good, and as an instrument to advance toward the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Mr. Luigi Cabrini, GSTC Chair.
“Tourism is more than a leisure activity. It can be a driver of peace, security, and understanding and we must harness its impressive potential to advance sustainable development. The mission of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, that I have the honor to chair for the last few years, is to shift the balance toward the positive benefits that tourism can create for local communities, cultural heritage, and the environment, and to minimize its negative impacts,” Mr. Cabrini added.
