GSTC Attraction Criteria 1st Public Consultation Report and 2nd Public Consultation is now openGSTC’s first round of public consultation for the GSTC Attraction Criteria, which took place from 15th March to May 15th, 2024, has been completed. The key findings report is available here.

The GSTC Attraction Criteria aims to serve as the global sustainability standards for the Attraction industry.

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) formed an Attraction Criteria Development Advisory Group*, which comprises up to six organizations from both the public and private sectors with a proven history in attractions. 

The current Attraction Criteria Development Key Stakeholders include the following organizations: Blue Lagoon Island Bahamas, City of Dubrovnik, Mandai Wildlife Group and Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

The GSTC Attraction Criteria 2nd Public Consultation is now open

Individuals with an interest in Attractions and professionals with expertise in this sector are warmly invited to contribute their insights during the second Public Consultation phase of the GSTC Attraction Criteria. The consultation period is currently active and scheduled to remain open until September 5th, 2024. 

The GSTC Attraction Criteria includes four sections: Section A (Demonstrate effective sustainable management); Section B (Maximize social and economic benefits to the local community and minimize negative impacts); Section C (Maximize benefits to cultural heritage and minimize negative impacts) and Section D (Maximize benefits to the environment and minimize negative impacts).
