The Taichung City Government sponsored the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training for their tourism stakeholders in the Howard Prince Hotel Taichung in Taiwan. The training was held from July 5th to July 6th, 2024, and was led by GSTC Trainer Monique Chen, who shared her knowledge and expertise with practical examples and valuable insights.
Attendees had the chance to listen to esteemed guest speakers Jennifer Lin, Senior Manager, Business Development, and Pohan Chen, Expert for Facilitation of Wide-area Tourist Attraction from Japan Tourism Agency. Roi Ariel, GSTC General Manager was also present at the training and talked to the participants about the importance of the GSTC Criteria, the global standards for sustainability in tourism and travel.
The GSTC Sustainable Tourism Course provided 27 participants with the essential knowledge and skills to champion sustainable tourism practices. It presented an excellent opportunity to delve into the GSTC Criteria. The inclusion of global and local case studies enhanced the value of the training.
Upon successful course completion, participants receive a certificate of completion and become eligible to take an optional official exam to obtain the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism.
