The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) announces the appointment of Mr. Felipe Beltran as its Country Representative in the Dominican Republic. GSTC Country Representatives play a valuable role, serving as the “eyes and ears” and in many ways the voices of GSTC in their respective countries or regions.
“Felipe Beltran first joined the GSTC as a member in 2013 and is well experienced and well known in the field of sustainable tourism certification in the Dominican Republic,” says GSTC CEO Randy Durband. “With increasing engagement and popularity of sustainability certifications in the Caribbean, we are delighted to have Felipe to represent GSTC in the Dominican Republic.”

Felipe Beltrán is an enthusiastic professional with passion about traveling, tourism, sports and environmental management. Originally from Mallorca, Spain, Felipe has been living in the Dominican Republic for the last 15 years. Felipe holds a degree in Law and a Master in Business Administration. Over the past 10 years, Felipe has been the President of Ecoservices Dominicana, a leading sustainable management company, and has been involved as an auditor for Green Globe and Biosphere, as well as other related standards. Felipe’s environmental commitment and social sensitivity helps developing relationships in the tourism market in the Dominican Republic and in other destinations. Felipe is also a committed university teacher of sustainable tourism, willing to prepare and assist in the personal and professional development of the people who can reciprocally share the information and preparation received.
